Don Lockhart - Purpose
Don Lockhart completed his healing doctrine in Tempe, Arizona, while teaching at The Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. Extensive tests during the past 12 years were conducted on people with disabilities, primarily Stroke Victims. The objective was to determine the best and quickest way to extend their range of motion to lead a more productive life. Thus ‘Pain Management’ the ‘Alternative’ way. His treatment also contains other methodologies to enhance the overall health and treatment services by the specialist as well as the individual in his or her home, using self-massage and partner treatments.

Don has always been fascinated by the Alternative Therapy movement. Pursuing a rewarding career as a Security Consultant in the high technology Digital Video field, Don however, wanted to develop new techniques that assist those who are victims of a rehabilitation process that is terribly flawed. Many people that become disabled are inserted into a rehabilitation environment for a short period of time and thus cannot function as well on their own. He hails from Canada but has worked throughout North America developing his new technique and teaching massage therapists to extend their careers through body posturing and other self-taught techniques. He has also developed and modified a chair massage routine, whereby he incorporates light-energy healing (Reiki), meditation and breathwork. His initial training was in Toronto. A unique method of chair massage of 100 hours taught by Eric Brown, RMT at the Relax To The Max massage school. In the Chair Massage industry, they are considered to be the top-rated school in the world. It is important to note that in the United States, chair massage training consists only of 4 – 8 hours of instruction in a standard Massage Therapy course of 750 to 1200 hours. Unless a person has taken the “Lockhart Method” or “The Relax-To-The-Max” course, they will not provide a comprehensive, detailed and thorough chair massage to their clients. He has taken the knowledge gained through many courses and added other modalities to his course. Another aspect of his knowledge and compassion has come from an intuitive mastery of the client’s need. He continues to share his knowledge through many alternative therapy courses in alternative pain management, healing, teaching and helping others with stress/tension relief and various consultations through telephone and email services.
