Partner Massage - The "Loving" Way

Partner massage or couples massage is written for anyone who wishes to please their partner by giving them a relaxing, soothing massage. The explanation will be altered at certain points for the receiver (a male or a female).

Ideally, the offer to perform a partner massage may come in a card, a letter, creative gift certificate or dinner or simply a notice that he or she will be granted a 60 minute massage at a convenient time for both. Make it very relaxing….be bold….be daring….be creative….and be different…..

While a good massage offers relaxation and excitement, a partner massage or couples massage can also provide pain relief of the mind, which control your thoughts and ultimately control your body. This in essence is pain management in a different way. Meditation and breathing exercises stimulate a greater awareness of happiness in a “Loving” massage.

Preparation

1. Soft music (calming, relaxing). 2. A large duvet with 2 sheets.. 3. Massage oil (ask whether he or she would prefer a fragrance-free or lightly scented oil or lotion).4. A sheet to cover him or her up to stay warm. However, they may prefer being nude.5. A soft flat pillow (optional).6. Several towels.

This partner massage or couples massage techniques can be given on a bed with a firm mattress, a carpeted floor or really anywhere that is comfortable. If this seems to be an ongoing treat, then I would suggest that you invest in a used massage table, with a face cradle.

Once you have all the necessities in place, ask your partner to lay face down. Remember to be relaxed and know that you will be pleasing your partner in a very relaxing and sensual way. It would help to take a few minutes to center your self into a calming state, by doing some deep breathing and meditation. Let’s get started in using the partner massage to pleasing your partner in a way that is essential to love, peace and harmony.

Note: Body positioning helps to reduce strain on your arms and shoulders. Always try to push from your legs and torso. When massaging, work primarily on the muscles when doing deeper kneading, but gently on the bone surface.

Back Massage

Pour a little oil into your palms. You want to be positioned at the back of their head. Gently, place your palms on their shoulders and glide your palms slowly down the back to the buttocks. Glide them back again to the shoulders. Pour more oil into your palms and repeat. In a short time you will know how much oil should be applied, if needed at all. You will get to know how much this pleases your partner and a few more repetitions can be added.

Another massage technique for a partner massage would be to glide down the back to the buttocks and sweep over to their sides, up to the armpits, and around to the base of the neck. This technique is very sensual for the woman.

Other partner massage or couples massage techniques for the back are circular motions, butterfly motion with the fingertips and elbow compression on the muscles (erector-spinae), located on both sides of the spine.

Are they enjoying your new “Loving” massage?

Back Leg Massage

Now you are ready to start on their left leg, assuming that you’re moving around the body in a counter-clockwise direction. Slightly spread your partner’s legs, so that it will be easier to massage one leg at a time. Use more oil and gently grab hold of the thighs, clenching with both hands, at the very top, where the buttocks meet. Gently guide your hands all the way down to the feet and toes. Repeat this technique, by squeezing the thigh and calf muscles, using your thumbs and fingers. Repeat this technique three times. Now you move to the right leg and apply the same technique, as you did on the left. When finished, ask your partner to turn around.

Foot Massage

Note: For a more detailed Soothing Foot Massage – Refer to topic on “Foot Massage”

Grasp the right foot with your fingers on top and your thumbs on the instep. From the sole of the foot, apply pressure with your thumbs, moving up to the toes. Knead with knuckles on the bottom of the foot. Stretch each toe.

Front Leg Massage

Grasp the right leg at the top of the thigh, squeeze and hold for 3 seconds. Move downward and above the knee and repeat. Do this technique twice. Move to below the knee and grasp the calf muscles and squeeze, moving down to the ankle. Repeat this technique twice.

Move over to the left leg and repeat the same functions as the right leg.

Arms, Hands and Fingers

Proceed to the left arm, apply oil and grasp the upper arm, squeezing the muscle down to the elbow. Massage the lower arm with fingers and thumb and repeat. Hold the hand, massage the palm with strokes up to the fingers. On each finger, with your thumb and fore-finger, inch up to the tips and repeat. Do this for all fingers and thumb.

The Last Technique

Slide you fingers, under the shoulder blades (Scapula). Then slide you fingers up to their neck to the base of the skull, applying some pressure. Repeat 3 times.

Your partner should have at least a 15 minute session, where they can relax after their massage. You should offer them a glass of water, as well. Water is great as it replenishes the body from loss of toxins.
